About Hot Springs

America's First Resort

One of the biggest things families research when moving into a new house or city is the school district their kids will soon be attending.

Lakeside School District – the district the young residents of Diamondhead attend – stands out from the rest in the state of Arkansas.

Lakeside was recently one of five school districts in the state to receive an ‘A’ grade from the Arkansas Policy Foundation in October, according to the Hot Springs Sentinel-Record

The grades were based on the school’s annual performance levels on state-mandated test scores.

Superintendent Shawn Cook told the Sentinel-Record that Lakeside has the highest grade point average of all 5A schools in the state and has been named one of the top five overall schools in the state.

The report was compiled for the Arkansas Department of Education by the National Office for Research, Measurement and Evaluation Systems at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
