Wrapping around Diamondhead is the soft current of Lake Catherine. Held in check by Remmel Dam, the Ouachita River forms 11 mile long Lake Catherine. Diamondhead residents access the 2,000 acre lake by our own launch ramps and keep boats ready for fun at the Marina dock.
Adjoining Diamondhead is Lake Catherine State Park. Ride your bicycle just down the road and you will be in one of Arkansas’ most beautiful state parks. The well maintained hiking trails will lead you to waterfalls and you will most likely catch a fleeting glimpse of graceful white-tailed deer in the forest-clad Ouachita Mountains. This 2,180 acre popular lake park offers cabins, camp sites, RV sites and even a little Arkansas handcrafted shopping. Many outdoor activities are available, including fishing, water sports, hiking, horseback riding and nature study. In Diamondhead, you can own a wooded lot that backs to the State Park and your neighbors will always be deer, fox, dogwoods, and the forest.
